Fast GTMdue-diligence.

Before the check — an independent reality-check on a startup's GTM plan. Before a follow-on — an outside view on why a portfolio company isn't growing.

Who it's for

Investors, angels and operating partners

For people who decide on investments and want external validation of the market part of the pitch — without expensive consulting engagements.

/ 01

Business angels and micro-VCs

Pre-seed / seed checks of $25k–$250k. You need a fast sanity-check on market and channels before saying yes or no.

/ 02

Operating partners at funds

You help portfolio companies with GTM. You need an external document to put on the founder's table for a focused discussion.

/ 03

Syndicates and investor clubs

You prepare memos for co-investors. You need independent market context — not written by the startup itself.

Why it helps

An external view of GTM for the price of one lunch.

01

Market-side reality check

Is the TAM in the pitch real? Is there traffic, discussion, competitors with traction? Where the pitch is stretched — you'll see.

02

Channel-mix realism

The startup promises 'we'll hit $1M ARR via performance'. The document shows realistic CAC, conversions and time per channel.

03

Competitor map without bias

No 'we have no competitors'. Real alternatives, their traffic, prices, positioning.

04

Pre-investment red flags

Weak spots in the GTM logic, poorly defended channels, single-platform dependency — called out separately.

05

A document for portfolio companies

Can be handed to the founder as a starting point for GTM work — without hiring an expensive consultant.

06

Pricing unlike DD firms

$29 per brief. Comparable to one analyst hour — but you get a structured document with human review.

How it works

Product analysis from the market side

You fill out the brief instead of the founder (or ask them to — useful before the deal). You get an independent GTM snapshot.

  1. 01

    Deal brief

Describe the product, claimed segment, growth goals, current channels (if known). Multiple deals in parallel are fine.

  2. 02

    External market research

Real search demand, community activity, competitor dynamics. Not based solely on the pitch deck.

  3. 03

    Competitive gap analysis

Who really owns the market, how defensible they are, whether there's a window for a new entrant.

  4. 04

    Channel-mix realism

Each pitched channel checked for cost, speed and saturation in this niche.

  5. 05

    Red flags + open questions

A separate block: what doesn't add up in the GTM logic, what to ask the founder before the check.

  6. 06

    Notion document

You receive a ready memo you can attach to an investment doc or hand to the portfolio company.

FAQ

Common questions
from investors

Can I order this without the founder?+

Yes. Public information about the product plus your hypotheses is enough. If we need clarifications — we ask you, not them.

Confidentiality?+

We'll sign an NDA. Briefs are not used for marketing materials and not published.

Does it work for late-stage?+

The document is optimized for pre-seed / seed / Series A. For late-stage it's possible, but we recommend the extended version — write to us.

Does this replace full DD?+

No. It's a GTM slice: market, audience, channels. Financial, legal and technical DD are separate.

Can I batch 5 deals at once?+

Yes. Batch discount is discussed individually. Write to hello@rollinscope.com.
